Two men who raped girls they had met at Notting Hill Carnival haven sentenced to 22 years behind bars.
Shane Wyllie, 25, was found guilty of raping two teenage girls at his home in Auckland Close, Enfield, between August 30 and September 2, 2013.
Linvan Jaisingh, 21, was found guilty of raping a teenage girl at his home in Stoneliegh Avenue, Enfield, and perverting the course of justice.
The court heard that Wylie met a 16-year-old girl at the carnival and the two exchanged numbers.
Following frequent text messages, the pair agreed to meet. The following week, Wylie picked her up from her home and drove to his home, where he raped her.
He then drove the girl to Wembley rail station and met Jaisingh on the way.
After dropping the girl off at the rail station, Wylie contacted a second teenager he had also met at the carnival, arranging to meet nearby.
Not wanting to meet Wyllie on her own, the 17-year old girl brought her 16-year old friend.
The four them then went to fast food restaurant where they each got into separate cars with the men, believing they were all going to a house party together.
However, Wyllie began driving towards his home address. When the girl voiced her concerns his mood changed and he told her: "Don't stress me out; you will not like me when I am stressed."
Wyllie then stopped at a fast food restaurant en route and the girl took the opportunity to call a friend and tell her she was scared, but had to end the call when he returned to the vehicle.
Once inside his home, he prevented her from leaving and punched her in the face before raping her.
Jaisingh also drove to his home where he locked the door and made sexual advances towards the girl which she rebutted, but he raped her.
Following the attack she managed to distract him and take the key to the door from his pocket and run away.
Wyllie was then interviewed by police on September 5, 2013. He denied all the allegations put to him and claimed the girl consented.
Jaisingh was also identified and spoken to as a witness to the first rape committed by Wyllie. He provided a false name and statement to detectives.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Dal Riyat, said: "Both Wyllie and Jaisingh are sexual predators who I believe had intentions of having sex with these girls, with or without their consent, as soon as they met. In particular I am confident that they plotted together to separate the second and third victims with the sole intention of raping them that day.
“Neither has shown any remorse for their actions and both have lied repeatedly throughout this process.
“I would like to pay tribute to the girls who each showed immense courage and strength of character in coming forward to report their experiences to the police.
“I cannot rule out the possibility other women may have been assaulted by either Wyllie or Jaisingh and I hope that any victims who have not previously come forward will now have the confidence to do so.”
Wyllie was sentenced to 14 years in jail and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Jaisingh was jailed for eight years and also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
