Enfield Town FC marked the centenary of the First World War as part of its European tour.
The team laid a wreath at the Menin Gate, in Ypres, Belgium, before they made they played their first European fixture.
The team ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against SK Beveren last weekend.
Outgoing chairman Paul Millington said: "The visit to Ypres brought home to us the great sacrifice others made.
“It was poignant that the spot the wreath was laid was near the name of Charles Blake, a player for Enfield who lost his life in 1917 aged just 26.
“We have built a great friendship with YB SK Beveren and without the sacrifice made by Charles and so many others that may not have been possible."
