A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was beheaded.

Nicholas Salvador, of Gilda Avenue, Enfield, was also charged with assaulting a police officer after the incident in Nightingale Road, Enfield, on Thursday, September 4.

Palmira Silva, 82, was reportedly beheaded in the garden of a house by a man seen running through gardens hacking cats to death.

Earlier today, Mr Salvador was recieving medical treatment in hospital after police used a taser during the confrontation.

He will appear in custody on Saturday, September 6 at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.
