The Enfield Independent has asked each parliamentary candidate to give us five reasons why people should vote for them in next month's General Election.
Here, Edmonton candidate for Labour Kate Osamor, has given her five reasons why people should vote for her on May 7.
I am standing to be the Labour MP for Edmonton because I believe in a brighter future for Edmonton.
A Labour government will put ordinary people first, tackle crime and save our NHS. I have worked for the NHS for more than 15 years as a practice manager and have seen first hand the adverse affects the coalition government has had on ordinary people.
These have been longer waiting times for GP referrals, over stretched GPs and no same day appointments. These extreme pressures have hit ordinary people. Labour will recruit 20,000 more nurses and 8, 000 more GPs.
Labour will freeze gas and electricity bill increases until 2017. Labour will get 200,000 homes built a year by 2020, creating up to 230,000 construction jobs.
Edmonton, like most inner city constituencies, needs a Labour government to deliver these much-needed commitments
- Campaign for decent wages.
- Campaign for rights at work.
- Campaign to save our NHS.
- Campaign to help with household bills.
- Campaign for secure jobs now and in the future.
