PEOPLE of all religious beliefs are invited to an Edmonton mosque on Sunday as part of a national day to encourage people to learn about the religion.
The Mevlana Rumi Mosque in Fore Street will open its doors in celebration of national Visit My Mosque day, which is led the Muslim Council of Britain and encourages people of all backgrounds to see Islam for themselves.
The event will run between 12pm and 4pm, and will include tours, free refreshments, children’s activities, stalls and a chance to observe prayer.
Chairounisa Intze, manager of the event, said: “We at the Mevlana Rumi Mosque are delighted at the level of interest in this event. We look forward to giving our guests the chance to see for themselves what goes on in the mosque.”
