NEW Southgate residents are urged to get involved in a consultation over plans to revamp the area.
The consultation on the New Southgate Masterplan is due to close on June 9.
The Enfield Council proposals include new housing and shops, the Ladderswood Estate regeneration, and improvements to open spaces, community facilities, parking and transport.
Feedback from residents so far includes concerns about parking, road safety, quality of housing, play facilities, youth activities and the quality of the environment.
Cllr Del Goddard, cabinet member for regeneration said: “The new council was elected to improve communication and to listen to residents and businesses.
"We want to give local people a real input into the decision making process, so that they can be fully engaged in the changes taking place in their area.
"We’ve had some good feedback so far – people are telling us that they want a masterplan vision that is comprehensive and are delighted to see improvements to the area.
"The proposals are important and will shape the area for years to come. This is why we need your contributions.”
Residents can still get a copy of the masterplan and consultation questionnaire from local venues such as Gina’s Bakery (366 Bowes Road), Bright and Klean Dry Cleaners (32 Friern Barnet Road), New Southgate Food and Wine (137-141 High Road), and the Bowes Road Library.
