Enfield's Town's Isthmian Premier Division play-off semi-final against Hendon on Thursday has been postponed by the league until such a time as the Towners' involvement can be confirmed.
That is because Bradley Quinton's men find themselves facing a three point deduction after the Football Association found the club guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Aryan Tajbakhsh, in two matches.
If the Towners were deducted three points, Metropolitan Police would leapfrog them into fifth position and claim the final play-off spot.
Enfield are currently deciding on their next move after receiving the FA's written reasoning for finding them guilty of breaching Isthmian League rule 6.9.
That despite the governing body conceding their own inadequate system was to blame for the oversight and absolving the club of any responsibility.
The other play-off semi-final, between Margate and Dulwich Hamlet, will go ahead as scheduled on Thursday.
