Boxing champion Michael Grant has decided to turn professional and has already got his sights set on a clash with Amir Khan.

Enfield-based Grant, current holder of the Amateur Boxing Association's light-welterweight title, is ready to box with the big boys, and Khan is the top of his list of opponents he would like to fight.

"I'd love to fight Amir Khan but I know that's not going to happen, because he's too protected," he said. "I will take on anyone.

"I'm just turning pro and need to get a couple of years under my belt. But I'm sure once I'm a seasoned pro, and have been doing this for a while, I'll be ready for anyone: Ricky Hatton, whoever. I'm in the best shape of my life right now and I just can't wait for that first fight," he said.
