We actually let out a whoop of excitement when we heard that a giant water slide was coming to Alexandra Palace as part of its Summer Festival.
You'll be able to grab an inflatable on Saturday, July 25 and go shooting down the slippery 150-metre track, which runs down the slopes at the north London venue with all money raised going to Cancer Research UK.
Taking place within the historic halls of the palace and outside in its 196-acre park, the festival runs from 11am to 11pm and is jam-packed with events.
Get into the party groove at the Silent Disco beneath the trees in the grove with DJs playing a variety of sets to cater for every taste. Or head to the two stages that will play host to live music acts all day and look out for the pop-up theatre events taking place throughout the park.
Pick up a pedalo at the boating lake and battle it out in one of many competitions during the day. Or pop over to the Children's Activity Zone, which will have classic rides, prizes, a sports day and craft-making.
After all that fun you'll be able to cool down at the Ink Rink Gala, being held to mark the iconic rink's its 25th anniversary, with special performance from three times British champion John Hamer. You'll also be able to get in a spin on the ice yourself and show off your moves.
After that you might relish a chance to sit back and relax with Tea on the Terrace where you'll be served snacks, cakes and plenty of refreshments. Or you can visit the Street Food & Craft Beer Festival, which will boast London’s largest outdoor beer garden.
Once you have replenished your energy levels stroll inside for a History Tour of Ally Pally's unseen areas before they are regenerated. The famous Grand Will Organ will be taking centre stage in the great hall for the Prom in the Palace with a performance by acclaimed organist Richard Hills.
As the suns sets, head back outside and stretch out on the grassy slopes to enjoy a the classic film Dirty Dancing on a giant screen courtesy of the creators of the UK’s number one cinema experience, Rooftop Film Club.
Save us a spot on the slide!
Entrance to the festival is free but tickets are required for some activities. Details: summerfest.alexandrapalace.com
