Double Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin said she was “humbled” after hearing that a street in Enfield would be named in her honour.
Miss Dujardin, who comes from Enfield, produced two stunning performances to win the individual and team dressage gold medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games with her horse, Valegro.
After receiving a gold postbox in her honour outside Enfield Town station last year, a new street in Ponders End will also be named Dujardin Mews after the Olympic hero.
Miss Dujardin said: "I am overwhelmed to have a street named after me. My roots are in Enfield and now I will always have a presence there."
Enfield Council's cabinet member for environment Councillor Chris Bond said: "Charlotte Dujardin was one of the many stars in Team GB during the 2012 London Olympics and as she is an Enfield girl we are delighted we are able to honour her in this way.
"She was part of the fantastic Team GB which set the entire nation's pulses racing during the Olympic and Paralympic Games and we've been waiting for a while to find a suitable road to name after her.
"We're enormously proud of her achievements and she is a terrific role model for all the young people in Enfield who want to achieve great things in life."
