Every dog will have its day – and that is certainly the case for one Enfield dog that has pawed his way to stardom.
Four-year-old rescue pooch Duffie has been cast in BBC soap opera EastEnders – delighting his owner Chris Mancini, of Rosemary Avenue, Enfield Town.
She said: “I am so excited about seeing Duffie on EastEnders and this is the best moment of his career so far. He is in the programme for the foreseeable future and although he has done adverts in the past, this is the biggest job for him.”
The talented four-legged friend was signed up by his owner to Animal Ambassadors and has leapt his way to glory. He will first appear on the show in Thursday's episode.
Ms Mancini revealed how she came by her loyal companion, whose breed is unknown.
She said: “He was a rescue dog who I got off of the internet. I have always wanted a scruffy dog and I have always wanted one like him.
“He is so lovely and can’t get enough of doing tricks for treats. He has so many in his repertoire and is the best dog anyone could ask for.”
The dog will be part of the long standing family, the Brannings, who have connections in Albert Square all the way back to 1993.
