The tribunal into a dentist who allegedly put his penis into a patient’s mouth has been postponed.
Andreas Andreou, a dentist at Broadway Dental Care, in Compton Road, in Winchmore Hill, was convicted of sexual assault in February 2014 after he exposed himself to a patient in March 2012.
However, a trial into his ability to remain as a dentist has been postponed by committee members of the General Dental Council.
The court heard that Andreou had told the patient to arrive early to the dental practice on March 17, 2012, where only Andreou was to be found.
The tribunal heard that he touched the woman’s face with his penis and said “Can’t we do something to sort this out” and/or “I can sort out your teeth for you” or words to that effect.
When police arrived at the practice, Andreou responded to their questions by saying: “Yes, I flashed a woman at my practice today.”
The charges brought against Andreou at the court in Aldersgate House, central London, were that his actions were not in the patient's best interest; inappropriate; and, fell seriously below the standards expected of a registered.
His hearing has now been postponed to an unknown date.
