A partially sighted pensioner has been assaulted in a "cowardly attack" in Edmonton, police said.
Officers were called at around 11.15am on Friday, March 18, to reports of a fight in Fore Street, at the junction with Brettenham Road, N18.
On arrival, officers found a 73-year-old man suffering an arm injury.
The victim - who is partially sighted and uses a white stick to aid his walking - was assaulted by another man who then ran away from the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers subsequently arrested a 40-year-old man in Brettenham Road on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody at an east London police station.
Detective Inspector Chris Rixon of Enfield CID said: "This was a cowardly attack on a vulnerable man and I would urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or has information regarding this crime, to contact Enfield CID."
Anyone with information should contact Enfield CID on 020 8345 3323 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
