Two people were stabbed in an appalling attack by five men carrying weapons.
Police were called to Salisbury Road, Wood Green, at 10.41pm last Thursday to reports of a fight.
Two males - aged 16 and 28 years old – were found suffering from stab wounds.
Both males were taken to north London hospitals by the London Ambulance Service where they continue treatment.
Both are in a stable condition and their injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspects are believed to have travelled in a silver coloured Vauxhall Corsa.
Detective Inspector Stephen Masterson said: “This was an appallingly violent attack by a group of armed men intent on causing serious injury.
“Had it not been for the fast actions of the first officers on scene it is likely that this would have been a murder investigation.
“I urge anyone who saw a silver Vauxhall Corsa in the Salisbury Road area on Thursday, 7 February or any suspicious activity to call police without delay.
“The effects of knife crime run far beyond injuries to the victims, the impact on the community and on feelings of personal safety can be devastating. It is vital that we identify and apprehend dangerous individuals quickly and place them before the courts.
“If you have information please don’t hesitate, make the call and leave the rest to us.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting CAD 8430/07Feb19.
