Detectives investigating the murder of a 19-year-old man have released further information about the moments before he died.

The murder and attempted murder of two men during a fight in Vincent Road, Wood Green, at around 8.10pm on Friday (February 22) is believed to have begun earlier on close to the Vue Cinema in Hollywood Green.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Stancombe of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command said: “It is now apparent the attack started in Hollywood Green.

“The victims were chased a short distance to Vincent Road by a group of males riding push bikes.

“Having caught up with them, they stabbed and shot the first victim, before forcing their way into a hairdressers’ to stab the other.”

Both men were taken to an east London hospital for treatment by London’s Air Ambulance - but the 19-year-old man was pronounced dead just after 3am the following morning.

A post mortem is scheduled to take place today.

The injuries of the 20-year-old man, who had been stabbed and shot, are not thought to be life-threatening.

DCI Stancombe added: “The attack happened in a busy area packed with shops, restaurants and bars. Numerous people would have been leaving the cinema or arriving to watch the evening showings.
