An author from Enfield has penned a new multicultural fantasy series for children.
Georgina Simmons has just published the first book in the series, The Kingdom of Cush, which features bi-racial main character Ruby, who has to learn to love her curly hair. Although a magical fantasy series, the books seek to lift the lid on social and racial prejudices that still exist today.
Next month Georgina will take a tour of Enfield primary schools to read from her book and engage pupils in creative writing workshops. She will visit Fleece Primary School, Highfield Primary School, Kingfisher Primary School and Grange Park Primary School.
The Kingdom of Cush is available to buy now.
