The pedestrian and cycle zones on roads near schools in and around Enfield are to be made permanent.
A notice from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent has confirmed the restrictions which ban motor vehicles from entering sections of road near schools at specified times will become permanent from Monday.
The zones will be in operation between 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm from Monday to Friday, but “it is anticipated that they will only operate during these hours in school term-time when the traffic signs are showing”.
The notice states that barriers may be placed in some locations but vehicles belonged to disabled blue badge and permit holders will be allowed to enter the zones.
The restrictions will apply in these locations:
- Main Avenue EN1 (Bush Hill Primary School) – from its junction with Landseer Road to its junction with Leighton Road.
- Trinity Street EN2 (Chase Side Primary School) – in its entirety.
- Green Road N14 (De Bohun Primary School) – from its junction with The Fairway to its junction with Addison Avenue.
- Sketty Road EN1 (George Spicer Primary School) – from outside Nos. 62/64 to the junction with Claydach Road.
- Westerham Avenue N9 (Hazelbury Primary School) – from its junction with Orpington Gardens to its junction with Haselbury Road.
- Tysoe Avenue EN3 (Keys Meadow Primary School) - from the roundabout outside Nos. 1 to 6 Horizon House, Tysoe Avenue, to the northern extremities of Tysoe Avenue.
- The Ride EN3 (Kingfisher Hall Primary School) – from its junction with Collinwood Avenue to its junction with Cowland Avenue.
- Hawthorn Grove EN2 (Lavender Primary School) – from outside No. 40 to the south-eastern extremity of Hawthorn Grove; and Lavender Road EN2, from its junction with Rosemary Avenue to its junction with Hawthorn Grove.
- Ladysmith Road N18 (Meridian Angel Primary School) – from its junction with Kimberley Road to the south-eastern extremity of Ladysmith Road.
- Raynham Avenue N18 (Raynham Primary School) – from its junction with Raynham Road to its junction with Raynham Terrace.
- Ringwood Way N21 (St Paul’s C of E Primary School) – from its junction with Station Road to outside No. 38.
- Goat Lane EN1 (Worcesters Primary School) – from its junction with Holbrook Close to outside No. 90; and Garnault Road EN1, from its junction with St. George’s Road to its junction with Goat Lane.
