Pedestrian and cycle zones are set to be introduced near seven primary schools in the borough of Haringey from next month.
A notice from Haringey Council in this week’s edition and Enfield and Haringey Independent details plans to introduce the experimental school street zones with effect March 7.
These zones prevent motorists without permits from using streets near schools at drop off and pick up times, with the aim of reducing pollution and the potential for road accidents.
The order permitting the zones will be in place for a maximum of 18 months and the council will consider in due course whether they should be made permanent.
The schools, times when the restrictions are due to be in force during term time, Monday to Friday, and locations where the appropriate signs will be displayed are as follows:
- St Martin of Porres Primary School - 8.30am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm. Blake Road N11: from the shared boundary of Nos. 94 and 96 to a point 2.3m south-west of the north-eastern boundary of No. 46.
- Trinity Primary Academy – 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm. Trinity Road N22: from a point 14.1m east of the eastern boundary of No. 1 to a point 12.6m west of the western boundary of No. 21 (outside Greek Orthodox Cathedral).
- Bruce Grove Primary School - 8.15am to 9.15am and 3pm to 4pm. Sperling Road N17: from the shared boundary of Nos. 75 and 77 east to a point 2.2m east of the eastern boundary of No. 17 Moorefield Road. Clacton Road N17: from its junction with Sperling Road to a point 10.7m north of the southern property line of No. 64 St Loys Road.
- Belmont Infant & Junior School - 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm. Rusper Road N22: from the shared boundary of Nos. 17 and 19 to a point 23.4m west of Downhills Way.
- St Ann’s CE Primary School – 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm. Avenue Road N15: from a point 6.7m north of its junction with St Ann’s Road to the southern kerb line of Newsam Avenue.
- Seven Sisters Primary School – 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm. South Grove N15: from a point 5.7m north of northern kerb line of Oulton Road to Newsam Avenue. Newsam Avenue N15: from South Grove to Avenue Road.
- West Green Primary School - 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm. Woodlands Park Road N15: from its junction with West Green Road, south to the northern kerb line of the access road to Rowleys Yard.
