Eleven new deacons were ordained last week, bringing them one step away from priesthood.
The new deacons in the Edmonton Episcopal Area, which covers a large part of North London, could become priests after around a year.
Paul Ellerby is one of the new deacons and will be serving at Christ Church Southgate.

He said: “London is a diverse city and it is exciting to be ordained as a Deacon with a group of people who truly represent all of the rich diversity we find here.
“If we can each show Jesus to be real in the places and contexts where we serve then with God's help we can make London an even better place to live.”
The new deacons for Edmonton are: Albert Danquah, Christopher Stewart, Claire Pearson, Jack Driver-Szekely, Peter Hopkins, Tim Fairbairn, Sebastian Cummings, Elizabeth Fellows, Ruth Copping, Catherine Ellerby and Paul Ellerby.
The Rt Revd Rob Wickham, Bishop of Edmonton, said: “I’m delighted to welcome all 11 newly ordained Deacons to the Edmonton Area.
“I have no doubt that they will be an asset to their churches and local neighbourhood for many years to come, each bringing their own unique set of experiences to the role."
