A man who was shot dead has been named as police appeal for witnesses.

Camilo Palacio, 23, was found with a gunshot wound after reports of a shooting at High Road, Haringey, on July 24.

Officers were called at around 9.30pm and provided first aid until a London Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service arrived.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the man from Enfield was pronounced dead at the scene at 10pm.

His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to have been a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Met said five people had been arrested in London and three in Kent.

Officers stopped a car in Harlesden on Sunday (July 31) and arrested two men aged 27 and 64 on suspicion of murder, and a 25-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of murder after a raid at a Haringey address.

On the same day, two men – aged 30 and 24 – were arrested on suspicion of murder and a teenager, 17, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in Margate, Kent.

On Monday, a teen, 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder at London City Airport.

Detective Chief Inspector Perry Benton, said: “My officers are very keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify the person responsible for Camilo’s death.

“A young man’s life has been brutally ended on a public street and a family is now struggling to come to terms with their loss – if ever there was a time to break the wall of silence, this is it.

“If you have information, dash-cam or mobile phone footage relating to this murder, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please do the right thing and get in touch.”
