More than 100 people fled a building on an industrial estate after a fire broke out.
The London Fire Brigade were called to Vale Road in Tottenham just before 10am on Sunday.
The brigade says the single storey building was being used as a place of worship and everyone had evacuated by the time firefighters arrived.
Four fire engines Tottenham, Holloway, and Stoke Newington, and around 25 firefighters attended and the fire was brought under control by 11.19am.
An internal storage compartment in the mid-terraced industrial unit was destroyed by the blaze.
There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
