A man has been charged after a moped was spotted being ridden “erratically” by CCTV operators.
Police were alerted by Enfield Council staff concerned at how a bike was being ridden in Hertford Road at around 9.30pm on August 29.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended the area before arresting a man in Princes Road.
The council says the man was arrested on suspicion of driving with no helmet, lights, or a number-plate, adding that a moped was seized.
The council says the unnamed man has since gone on to be charged with driving offences.
Enfield Council’s cabinet member for community safety and cohesion, Cllr Gina Needs, said: “I was pleased to hear about the excellent work of our dedicated staff at the Enfield Public Safety Centre.
“I am very grateful to the centre’s staff who work tirelessly 24/7 in the CCTV control room to help keep our residents safe.”
