Police are still on the hunt for potential suspects after a man was shot in the street in broad daylight.
It is believed that at least two attackers were involved when a gun was fired without warning in a shooting near Derby Road in Ponders End on Saturday (January 7). Both then fled on foot.
A man, 26, was taken to hospital after 2.30pm and he remains in critical condition
Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger says officers believe the victim was with friends in a car parked in Derby Road when they were approached by the suspects.
DCI Alger said: "I know the incident has horrified members of the local community, who are disgusted that such brazen violence could take place in broad daylight on their streets.
“We share that feeling and we're working to identify and bring to justice those responsible.
"As if often the case, the answer to establishing the chain of events that led to this incident could lie in the community.
“We've heard from people already, but we remain keen to hear from those who have information they want to share with us."
There have been no arrests at this time.
