A man and a woman were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire ripped through flats above a car dealership.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the blaze at 10.43pm on Friday evening (January 20) in Hertford Street, Edmonton.
Part of the first floor of the two storey flats above the car dealership were destroyed by fire.
One woman and one man evacuated the building before firefighters arrived. They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by medics from the London Ambulance Service.
An LFB spokesperson said: “The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and due to an electrical fault with fixed installation wiring.”
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended to tackle the fire, and the incident was under control by 12.10am.
Fire crews from Edmonton, Enfield, Tottenham and Chingford fire stations were in attendance.
