A man from Enfield has been arrested after a "very public" stabbing in a high street.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing after an incident on the High Street in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, yesterday (February 1).
Essex Police says a man was injured after he was hit by a vehicle at around 6.45pm.
The man, in his 50s was then stabbed.
He was rushed to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
A 21-year-old man from Enfield was arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody being questioned.
Detective Inspector Jason Scrivener said: “We appreciate this isolated incident happened very publicly and there will naturally be a concern among the Walton community.
“At this time, we’re not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and there will be policing presence in High Street throughout the day.”
