A new community hub and church that works to end youth violence will officially open this weekend.
Residents, local councillors and community organisations will attend the grand opening of GCM Community at 396-398 Hertford Road, Enfield, on Saturday, March 25.
The registered charity and faith group has campaigned to reduce youth violence in Enfield as SAVE (Schools against violence in Enfield) and performing arts group Young Soldierz, which has staged performances at the Millfield Theatre as well as educational workshops.
The new centre is close to Enfield Heights Academy and Durants School and the launch is to celebrate that the group now has a base in Enfield where it can continue its work.
GCM Community is currently supporting victims of the Turkey and Syria earthquakes via coffee mornings and drop in centres for anyone wanting to talk and grieve, with counsellors available for support.
Visit www.gcmcommunity.org or call 020 8062 8689 for information.
