A man is fighting for his life in hospital after his motorbike crashed into a lamppost.
Police were called to Watermead Way in Tottenham just after 4am this morning (June 10).
The 28-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to an east London hospital by the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
Police said that his injuries have been assessed as “life-threatening” and that enquiries are ongoing to locate his next of kin.
Road closures and cordons were in place earlier this morning while emergency services worked at the scene. These have since been lifted.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 04.16am on Saturday, June 10 to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a lamppost on Watermead Way, N17.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. The motorcyclist, a man, aged in his 20s, was taken by the LAS to an east London hospital where his injuries have been assessed as life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing to locate his next of kin.
“Road closures and cordons were established while emergency services worked at the scene. These have since been lifted.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD1300/10JUN.
