A man and woman from Edmonton have been accused of allowing their dog’s tail to be illegally docked.
Leon Clarke and Tanya Suleyman, both of Plowman Close, are alleged to have permitted the removal of whole of part of their dog’s tail for non-medical purposes.
The docking of dogs' tails was made illegal in 2007, other than for medical reasons or with exemptions for certain types of working dogs.
Clarke, 37, is charged with two offences – permitting another to remove whole/part of a dog’s tail and causing the removal by another of whole/part of a dog’s tail.
Suleyman, 30, is charged only with permitting another to remove whole/part of a dog’s tail.
The RSPCA allege that the removal of the tail took place between August 13, 2022, and October 17, 2022.
The pair will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (July 18).
