A teenager has been arrested after a woman and two dogs were killed in a “hit and run” crash.
Police were called to A10 Cambridge Road between Church Street and Bury Street just before 7.30pm on Tuesday evening (January 9).
A car had reportedly hit a pedestrian in the area.
Despite the best efforts of medics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, a 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman is believed to have been walking two dogs, who were also killed, at the time of the crash.
Police officers have informed her next of kin and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
A 17-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
He was subsequently bailed to return on a date in mid-February pending further police enquiries.
Detectives say they are still keen to speak with the driver of a red Audi who was in the area at the time of the crash.
Police have asked for those with dashcam footage and any other witnesses to come forward.
