Vehicles were found damaged when police investigated reports of gunshots.
There were no reported injuries after police were called to Willoughby Lane in Tottenham on Friday (February 2) at 7.50pm, to reports of shots fired.
Instead, officers found a number of parked vehicles damaged.
An appeal has launched for any witnesses to get in touch and help clarify what happened.
Detective Inspector Mat Freeman is part of the team of officers investigating. He said: "We know that when this incident happened there were members of public and vehicles driving nearby at the time.
"Did you capture anything on your phone, or on your dash cam if you were driving?
"These kinds of incidents are taken incredibly seriously my team are working to establish what happened.
“Any piece of information, no matter how irrelevant it may seem, could be crucial."
