A thug who was part of a gang that murdered an innocent man with knives and a shotgun has been jailed for life.
Russell Jordan Jones was out with friends in South Street, Enfield, in the early hours of March 17, 2018, when a group of men out hunting for opposing gang members shot him once and stabbed him 12 times.
Despite paramedics' efforts, Russell, 23, died at the scene.
The group – wearing dark clothing and masks – also attacked one of his friends, leaving him with a knife wound.
Kyle Gordon, of Enfield, was jailed for life for murder at the Old Bailey on March 14, and will serve a minimum 28 years.
He will also serve concurrent sentences of nine years for GBH with intent and 14 years for possession of a firearm with intent.
The 24-year-old was convicted on March 11 following a retrial after a jury at the same court failed to reach a verdict on June 14, 2023.
Others had already been jailed for the killing.
Bilkan Bilkaner, 20, of Dartford Avenue, Ponders End, and Duke Quianoo, 21, of Holbrook Close, Forty Hill, were convicted of the murder in January 2019.
They were handed 29-year sentences.
Sherome Williams, 21, of Woodlands Road in Enfield, was found guilty on June 14, 2023.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 25 years on June 30, 2023.
Speaking after Gordon's conviction last week, Detective Sergeant Joanne Donoghue, from the Met's Specialist Crime North Homicide Team, said: "On a freezing cold night in March 2018, Kyle Gordon and others armed themselves with a sawn-off shotgun and knives before setting out in search of opposing gang members.
"The group they chose were not in a gang, they were simply a group of young men chatting outside a shop.
"The wickedness and ferocity of the attack, which was captured on CCTV, shocked even the most seasoned of homicide detectives.”
