The force launched a manhunt across Hertfordshire and north London, searching through the night and the following day, which concluded when Kyle Clifford was found injured in Lavender Hill Cemetery, in the north London area, on Wednesday afternoon. Police say no shots were fired.
Clifford was taken to a major trauma centre for treatment that day, but as of Thursday afternoon remained in a “serious condition” and was yet to speak with officers at that stage.
A crossbow was recovered as part of the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Rob Hall said: “Our thoughts remain with the victims’ family at this tragic time.
“The investigation is moving at pace and as a result, we have now arrested a man. Enquiries are continuing at this time.”
