A man was arrested outside a railway station after a stop and search revealed nearly 20 knives.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police conducted a stop and search on a man in front of Edmonton Green train station at around 2pm on October 14.
Scotland Yard said the intelligence-based operation took place after a specialist crime team had gathered information that led to the search being executed.
According to police, the man resisted the operation but was later found with 18 knives and a draw string bag containing Class A and B drugs.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.
A Met Police spokesperson has confirmed he remains in custody at a north London police station.
Det Insp Lewis Sanderson said: “Time and again, knife crime and gang violence have terrible, far-reaching consequences that affect both the victims and the communities around them.
“This arrest is a welcome step towards removing weapons off our streets and tackling gang violence.
“We are committed to making the capital a safer place, by reducing crime that impacts individuals, our communities and businesses.”
