Police have confirmed it will be increasing patrols in Tottenham after a man in his 40s was shot dead.
The incident happened in Waltheof Gardens near Smithson Road at 9am today (October 15).
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were also dispatched to the scene and a man was found who had been shot.
He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
His next of kin have been informed as police continue with their enquiries.
There are yet to be any arrests made in connection to the incident.
A crime scene remains in place, with people advised to expect to see a heightened police presence in the surrounding area in the wake of the shooting.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, Caroline Haines said: “I am devastated by the tragic loss of life, and I recognise the concern that this incident will cause for local residents.
“I want to reassure you that we have a team of specialist officers already working diligently to establish the circumstances of this shooting.
