A care home in an exclusive London street known as ‘Billionaire’s Row' has been named the most luxurious in the UK.
Signature at Highgate, based in The Bishops Avenue, has beaten 150 retirement homes across the UK to win the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Award 2025.
The home is in The Bishops Avenue, an exclusive street that connects Hampstead Heath with East Finchley.
The award considers factors such as design, innovation, environmental impact, and indoor and outdoor amenities.
The company said the care home was constructed using state-of-the-art materials, sustainable technology and smart building systems, and designed to the "impeccable standards of the world’s best hotels", so residents "can enjoy a life well-lived".
Signature's care home has 96 studio and one-bedroom apartments, a café, dedicated activity space, cocktail bar, private dining rooms, an art-deco cinema, and a hair and beauty salon.
It also offers a menu curated by MasterChef winner Jane Devonshire, served in both full-service restaurant and bistro settings.
Outdoor spaces include a secluded garden for residents with dementia, communal terraces, water features and circular walking paths.
To ensure the safety of residents with dementia, CCTV cameras in their apartments allow residents and their families to ‘opt-in’ to 24/7 independent video and audio monitoring.
Kay Cox, chief executive of Signature Senior Lifestyle, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the Signature at Highgate team for being recognised with this prestigious award, especially the design and build team, led by our director of development and construction Wayne Pryce, whose hard work helped to create this beautiful home.
"To be named Knight Frank’s Luxury Care Home winner less than a year after its doors opened is an incredible achievement for the home and reflects the consistent dedication of our brilliant colleagues.”
She added: “At Signature Senior Lifestyle, we are committed to delivering exceptional care and luxury living for all our residents, and every aspect of Signature at Highgate embodies that ethos. We are determined to continue leading the sector in pioneering excellent, innovative care for the people we support.”
