AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into the case of a woman who complained about Enfield Homes contractors in last week's Independent.
Mother-of-two Catherine Healey, 50, of The Approach, Carterhatch Lane, Enfield, said she felt "violated" by the "diabolical behaviour" of the workmen renovating her home.
She told the Independent that she came home to find doors and windows unlocked, water running from a kitchen pipe on to the floor, nails sticking out of floorboards and her daughters' beds dismantled.
Cllr Edward Smith, who is a director on the board of Enfield Homes, said: "The board and the chairman were shocked at this story.
"It seems that this particular tenant has got cause for complaint and there's an investigation going on now."
He said contractors made mistakes, but Enfield Homes would be quick to rectify them and if necessary take action.
And he reassured tenants that Enfield Homes did care about their wellbeing.
"Enfield Homes is concerned. People make mistakes, that's human, but it can be put right now," he said.
