COLLEAGUES have paid tribute to a minicab driver killed in a car crash.

Twenty-nine year old Abozar-Dasht Nasiri, of Macleod Road, Winchmore Hill, worked at Station Cars, a minicab and private service based at Enfield Town train station.

His car collided with a lorry in Bramley Road, Southgate, on Sunday. He was working, but had no passengers in the car at the time.

Mr Nasiri suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:48am.

Mr Nasiri had a four-year-old daughter Arshin and six-month-old son Arsham. His widow Mrs Nasiri was too upset to comment, but her uncle said: "The family are terribly distraught. We have all come together to support each other at this upsetting time, but it won't bring him back."

One of his work collegues, Sibel Combat, said Mr Nasiri was "probably one of the nicest people I've ever met”. He added: “He was always smiling and customers never had a bad word to say about him.”

Mehmet Combat, the owner of the minicab company and Mr Nasiri's boss, said: "Abozar has been working for the company since 2007 and he was a very gentle, honest and hardworking man. He was very much liked by all of our regulars. We've put his picture up in our window and customers have come in to pay their respects.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call the witness appeal line on 020 8597 4874.

No arrests have been made in relation to the incident. A post mortem took place at Hornsey Coroners Court on Monday. An inquest will open and adjourn in due course.
