THE memory of murdered Bakari Davis will be honoured today with very special football tournament.
The tournament, held in Jubilee Park, Houndsfield Road, Edmonton, will raise money for a foundation set up in memory of Mr Davis, who was known locally as Judah.
The 24-year-old died after being surrounded, repeatedly punched and then stabbed in Bedevere Road in March last year.
His brother and sister, who lived nearby, rushed to his side but could do nothing to save him.
The motive for the attack was a fight earlier in the day between a friend of one of the attackers and a friend of Mr Davis'.
Now his family and friends are determined to do something to reverse the tide of youth violence and have brought together 18 teams to compete in both under 11 and under 16s age groups for today's event.
The money raised will go to the Judah Foundation to fund mentors for young men, who will aim to give young people a sense of identity, culture and self esteem.
Mr Davis himself was a keen footballer and played with Sunday league team, Ballers FC.
