One recent evening around 8pm I was contacted over the phone by two men claiming to be a Detective Sergeant and a constable from Scotland Yard.

They claimed they had arrested two youths attempting to buy goods at Argos using my credit card details, then continued to make several statements that concerned me. Ultimately, they asked me for my pin number supposedly to cancel the card.

I replied that they could not have it and furthermore they could not cancel my credit card.

I also told them that while they were speaking to me I asked my grandson to call the local police to confirm what they were saying. They replied that they were working independent of the local police, then hung up.

I reported this to the police at Edmonton. Readers must be made aware of this and not be taken in by such bogus calls.
