TWO special fun runs have been launched to help raise money for three local charities in September.
A 10km run and a separate one mile run with the option to take part in fancy dress have been organised by The Rotary Club in Edmonton for September 20.
The money raised will support the Nightingale Community Hospice Trust, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and the Harvey Parry Appeal Fund, which aims to raise £10,000 to take Meningitis suffer Harvey Parry to America to have prostetic limbs fitted after he had both legs and the fingers of one hand amputated because of the disease.
Members of the club urged runners and non-runners alike to sign up for the challenge.
Rotary club president, David Littleton, who is also a member of the Edmonton Running Club, said: “We want families to have a Fun Day out whilst raising money for really worthwhile causes.”
Both runs will start at 10am at Lea Valley Athletics Centre, Picketts Lock.
