OFFICERS at the centre of allegations of water torture during two drugs raids have had their case referred to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has completed its investigation into the conduct and actions of six police officers from the Enfield Crime Squad during the execution of the two raids in November 2008.
The allegations came to light after an entire crime squad came under the spotlight and an investigation was launched into the alleged mishandling of property.
The case was referred to the IPCC on April 3 when a decision was taken to undertake a fully independent IPCC study.
The commission has now passed on its file to the CPS for a decision about whether any of the officers should be charged.
