ENFIELD’S 119th carnival is taking place this weekend despite the carnival queen being absent with swine flu.
The Enfield Carnival takes place in Durants Park this Saturday, with the parade taking place at 1.00pm in Turkey Street after judging at 12.00pm.
Several princesses are expected to make an appearance though unfortunately not the carnival queen, who will be resting at home.
Guides and scouts are also expected to take part.
The parade will wend its way down Hertford Road, Green Street and finish in Durants Park where there will be stalls and a fairground until 5pm.
