I have read so many times in the newspapers of the crisis in the National Health Service in general and the failings of Chase Farm Hospital in particular.
Very recently, my husband suffered a heart attack late one evening at home.
I dialled 999 and within a few minutes, certainly no longer than 5, the rapid response car arrived, closely followed by the ambulance.
He was immediately transferred to Chase Farm Hospital where the doctors were waiting to receive him and he was treated within 30 minutes of my phone call.
I have nothing but praise for the doctors and nurses in the accident and emergency department for their care. He was transferred to Melbourne Ward where once again, he received the very best of treatment.
The staff were all very kind and explained everything fully to us. The whole area was kept clean and all the staff made full use of the hand washing facilities when having any contact with the patients.
Visitors also made good use of the hand cleaning facilities at the entrance to the ward.
I would just like to thank everyone from the ambulance staff to the hospital staff for their kindness at what was a very anxious time for us.
