Pop star turned gardener Kim Wilde will be opening her Jungle Gym garden at Capel Manor's ever-popular summer garden show this weekend.

Kim, who shot to fame with the song Kids in America in the 1980s, turned her back on showbiz when she became Capel Manor's star horticultural student.

Her garden features in Sunflower Street a series of seven gardens designed by former students.

Visitors are invited to take a look at the gardens and enjoy a great family day out featuring a falconry display, Punch and Judy Show, craft marquee and plenty of stalls brimming with plants for sale.

The college is also playing host to the Enfield Fuchsia Show, which has attracted hundreds of entries.

Opening at 1pm, visitors can find out how to grow perfect fuschias from the experts who will be on hand to answer questions.

The prizegiving ceremony will be held at 4pm on Sunday.

Admission to the full show, which costs £6 for adults and £2 for children, also includes entry to the 30-acres of beautiful themed gardens which includes an Italianate maze and Japanese garden.

Hot and cold refreshments will be available and there is plenty of free parking.
