I don't know if any other readers and motorists like myself in this area and throughout London have noticed the sudden disappearance of long-established petrol stations?

They all appear to have been gutted and turned into flats. I am finding myself driving around, very low on petrol, desperately looking for a garage, and when I finally find one I have to queue up like I used to when fuel was rationed in the 1960s.

Is this a conspiracy by the big supermarkets who want to monopolise the market or is it down to unscrupulous builders who make landowners an offer they cannot refuse to ensure every inch of vacant land or beautiful old building is knocked down to build flats?
