Organisers of this year's Enfield Carnival are inviting businesses and residents to join in the fun and enter a float for free.

If you would like to take part on August 13 you can decorate a car, van or articulated lorry and take it out on the parade, or join in as a walker in fancy dress.

Proceeds raised from the carnival go to disabled charities in Enfield throughout the year to help buy vital equipment.

Parade chairman Clive Edwards said: "We find we have support year on year from organisations which enjoy the carnival so much they enter a different float each time.

"There is a trophy for the group that collects the highest amount in the street collection. It is a great day out for colleagues and friends."

Enfield Carnival is an annual event featuring contributions from organisations including North London Hospice and Enfield Rangers Football Club.

The Enfield Carnival Queen and her court will also be riding into town while majorettes will be putting on a performance for the crowds.

The parade kicks off at Elsynge Green, Turkey Street, at 1pm and arrives at Durants Park at 2pm where a fete, including stalls and a tombola, can be enjoyed by all the family.
