England and Spurs goalie Paul Robinson's luxury Hadley Wood mansion is being patrolled by private security guards after burglars stole jewellery worth up to £50,000 from his home.
CCTV pictures released by police this week show two men fleeing from the sport star's multi-million pound pad in Enfield's most affluent suburb following the break-in.
The thieves struck while Robinson was helping to keep England's world Cup qualifying hopes alive during a match against Wales in September.
Security-conscious Robinson already subscribes to a £750-a-year neighbourhood-wide protection scheme provided by Hertfordshire firm SectorGuard which patrols the neighbourhood 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The scheme, which has been supported by some 300 residents, was introduced in 2002 after the area was plagued by masked robbers ransacking homes.
Simon Lester, who helped set up the initiative, said: "What happened to Paul Robinson is definitely a rare incident.
"The scheme has been going for almost four years now and has made a tremendous difference we just don't get serious or aggravated burglaries anymore.
"If people are spotted in the street by patrols, they will be stopped and asked questions."
Wealthy Hadley Wood is home to a host of celebrities, including Jeremy Beadle and Premiership footballers including Robbie Keane, and Dennis Bergkamp.
The CCTV footage of Robinson's burglary which happened at around 6pm on Sunday, September 4, shows two men wearing white gloves with tops pulled over their heads to obscure their face.
The men, described as around 25-years-old and of eastern European appearance, broke into the property through a back door. Staff from SectorGuard were alerted to the break-in via the house alarm but arrived after the pair had fled.
One of the men police are looking for was wearing a white vest with black stripes, black jogging bottoms with red stripes, white gloves and trainers.
The second wore a light coloured navy blue and white T-Shirt, white gloves and white Reebok Classic trainers.
