After attending public meetings on the future of health services, I believe Enfield should be hived-off from Barnet and become a primary care trust (PCT) representing the people of Enfield only.
Barnet General Hospital must be left to take care of its own debts.
We all know this Labour Government is heading for a deficit and to help balance the books it appears to be advocating the closure of several A&E units across the UK.
If the chief executive of Chase Farm Hospital, Averil Dongworth feels threatened by the financial consequences of not towing the Government line she should publish these facts and discuss these publicly.
The PCT must not be reactive to Government policy but proactive to the people living in Enfield.
