Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes visited Lea Valley High School on Friday to inspire more youngsters to achieve their sporting potential.
Dame Kelly was invited to the school in Bullsmoor Lane as part of her work with the Youth Sport Trust, which has teamed up with Sainsbury's to promote an initiative to train an additional 20,000 teachers to improve and develop young people's sporting skills.
The sports star spent time with Lea Valley pupils along with youngsters invited from Durants Special School in Pitfield Way, Enfield.
Pupils also had the chance to take part in a relay race with their idol.
Dame Kelly said: "I am delighted to be here in Enfield to encourage the youngsters, and hope they will go on to develop their skills and become the sporting coaches, leaders and volunteers of the future."
