A DERELICT house on the North Circular was gutted in a fire which broke out last night.
The blaze tore through the semi-detached house at around 11.40pm, gutting the first floor and roof and badly damaging the ground floor.
The house was boarded up and among a number of properties that lie empty along the A406 in New Southgate.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in the early hours of this morning and have launched an investigation into the cause.
The house has been a target for squatters in the past, it is believed, but no people were caught up in last night's fire.
